Who says a music video can't double as a fashion show? Certainly not Jasmine Yen.

Jasmine Yen may be singing about losing control, but her wardrobe has everything under control. In the music video for "SWEAT," the singer-songwriter serves three very different fashion moods, and not one of them came to play nice. There's a little grunge, a little futuristic glamour, and plenty of attitude to make the entire video feel like a fashion editorial gone beautifully rogue.

Released on October 9, the music video accompanies Yen's October 2 single, her first major release as an independent artist. The music has taken a darker turn, but Yen's fashion choices are anything but one-note. Apparently, creative freedom comes with an excellent wardrobe.

Soft Silhouettes, Sharp Intentions

First up is a pale, fitted corset-style bodysuit with sheer sleeves, worn with matching cycling shorts. It channels a ballerina off-duty but still on point.

A voluminous fur-look coat takes the outfit from understated to unapologetically dramatic. Add the hair flips and moody lighting, and suddenly the gym floor is a runway.

Elsewhere, Jasmine Yen pairs a pale corseted top and flowing trousers with a cropped camouflage-print jacket. The combination shouldn't be so effortless, yet the contradiction between soft tailoring and rugged outerwear is precisely what makes it work.

It's not quite military chic. More like the dress code made a detour at Fashion Week before prepping for a very fashionable combat class.

Ballet-core clocks back in and gets a wicked makeover with a sculptural, tutu-like skirt and thigh-high black boots. The exaggerated, puffed silhouette is all prima ballerina, while the boots look ready to kick the dress code out the door. Swan Lake? More like Swan Slay.

All That Glitters Is Yen

Then comes the scene-stealer: a strapless, mirror-finish silver mini dress with an exaggerated, irregular hemline.

Surrounded by magazines scattered across a gym floor, Yen looks like she came straight out of a fashion spreads. The metallic surface catches the light in sharp reflections, turning even a seated pose into a statement.

The music video was directed by Erik He and filmed in Stockholm. Judging by the wardrobe, the Swedish capital wasn't the only place getting a cool front.

Yen goes from delicate corsetry to camouflage and fur-look outerwear before turning up in a silver mini dress shiny enough to put the spotlight out of business. The looks have very little in common, save for one thing: she wears each like she owns the runway.

Consider this independent era well dressed.

From Berklee to Breaking Free

Yen's musical résumé has a few impressive entries of its own. The daughter of actor Donnie Yen and manager Cissy Wang, she began composing at seven, later earned a half-scholarship to Berklee College of Music and saw her 2024 single "Forever 19" land among RTHK's Top Ten International Gold Songs.

She also appeared at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas before releasing "SWEAT" as her first major independent single. Not a bad warm-up.

The singer took the title rather literally on October 13, scheduling a SWEAT CLUB Pilates session with fans at Yoga Seeds in Singapore. Music, movement and a workout? As you can see, this era comes with a dress code and a fitness routine.
