It was a whole new level of mayhem when the Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, dropped its full trailer a few days ago.
Marvel fans were sent into a dilemma with smooth cut action scenes and star-studded cameos. The film is reportedly MCU’s first horror genre movie helmed by Director Sam Raimi, famously known for his horror movies, Evil Dead and the Spiderman - Trilogy. Will this Marvel movie live up to its expectations? Let's break down the trailer!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Trailer
The trailer commences with Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) feeling dazed out by his frequent nightmares that visualize into Sanctum Sanctorum surrounded by skeletal remains. Assuming that these nightmares could be visions, viewers are hurriedly shifted to the next scene wherein Sorcerer Wong warns him "You cannot control everything, Strange. You opened a doorway between universes, and we don't know who or what will walk through it."
As fear runs in the city, we notice Stephen’s love interest presumably getting married due to the time lapse with Thanos’ snap. A smooth transition to the next cameo: Wanda; who describes Vision’s theories to Dr. Strange.
The trailer also explains that Doctor Strange’s botched spell to make the world forget about Peter Parker’s secret identity still had a lasting impact on the multiverse. And for this wild stunt, he is seen taken by universal authorities that seem to have greater power than the TVA, clapped in high-tech shackles.
The mystery voice and identity of the character remain hidden in this sneak peek...for now.
Revealing a new dimension of STRANGE, The most exciting scene is when we would likely have combat with Sinister Strange! In easily the most shocking moment, Sir Patrick Stewart returns as Professor Charles Xavier, also known as Professor X. A new character but a familiar name for Marvel comic buffs would be America Chavez. We will see her stance in the time intersection for the first time.
The ending leaves us in awe with high tension music when we see Wanda’s shift in character quoting “ You break the rules and become the hero. I do it and I become the enemy. That doesn’t seem fair.”
The trailer was sure much more than a rollercoaster ride. After Avengers Endgame, fans are anticipating the new turn of dimensions with much delight. Spiderman: No Way Home and its end credits ‘What if?’ opened a new realm of questions and theories. Hope the summer would be as exciting and promising as the preview.
